Waterstones stops selling Kindle e-readers because of poor sales

Because of fewer demands for Kindle e-readers, Waterstones stops selling them.

James Daunt, the firm’s managing director claims that the sales of the Kindle e-readers at his stores are poor.

He said the sales get worse and they are thinking to pull them from the shelves in more and more shops to make space for other products.

In answer to this matter, Amazon claims that its sales of Kindle devices are going well at retail level. It implies might be just Waterstones outlets encountered the sales decline.

According to the Amazon statement, the sales and growing distribution of Kindle perform well. Kindle devices are available in over 2,500 retail locations around UK, Argos, Tesco, Dixons, John Lewis, Sainbury’s Boots and Shop Direct included. Amazon’s book sales in UK and US are growing in 2015

Even Amazon shows its positive growth of e-book sales, there is evidence to indicate that the digital market is declining. And the demand for print is increasing.

According to the statistics from the Association of American Publishers, many literary fans are becoming hybrid readers for whom like reading both.

Amazon keeps offering e-readers for customers. It launched a new Paperwhite earlier this year, but it is set to use mainly on its Fire range of devices.

In September, Amazon produced a £50 version of its Fire Tablet in order to target the budget demographic.
